Suunto Medium Marine Compasses - 95 Series and 116 Series

Suunto offer the 95 series and 116 Series Compasses for medium sized boats.  These may be supplied in different models with a combination of the characteristics detailed below. 

Compasses supplied by Meridian Zero as standard are balanced for the Northern Hemisphere.   The fitted LED illumination has a lifetime of up to 100 000 hours. All Suunto medium sized compasses are supplied complete with a compensator that can be easily adjusted by hand, without the need for non-magnetic tools.  The operational temperature range for Suunto medium size boat compasses is -35°C - +70° C and each has a tilt angle of 45° in all directions.

All medium and large marine compasses are covered by a 10 year warranty. 

Medium Power Compasses

Suunto powerboat compasses are easy to read, extremely reliable and, thanks to the unique "Quietcard" shock absorber system, highly stable. This patented vibration dampening system is combined with a low inertia card making these compasses ideal for all powerboat applications.

Medium Sail Compasses

Suunto sailboat compasses are equipped with the "Stablecard" system, which makes reading the compass easy even in the toughest conditions.  Sail compasses in these series differ from powerboat compasses as they are gimballed to compensate for sailboat heel. 

SUUNTO 95 Series

The 95 Series have an apparent card diameter of 95mm (3.74 inches). The numerous mounting alternatives make this compass a versatile navigational aid ideal for a wide variety of applications ranging from power boats and smaller sailboats to tactical racing sailing. The 95 Series are suitable for boats up to 30 feet. 

A ten year warranty covers all the 95 series. 

SUUNTO 116 Series

The 116 Series have an apparent card diameter of 116 mm (4.5 inches). A lightweight compass enclosed in a stylish and durable housing. The thick polycarbonate dome provides protection against the harsh marine environment and extreme temperature changes. This compass is ideally suited to boats of 28-35 feet. 

All are covered by a 10 year warranty. 

Suunto Large Marine Compasses – 135 Series

Suunto large marine compasses have a dome diameter of 135mm (5.3”).  All 135 Series Compasses feature global balancing; that is to say, the card remains level no matter in what part of the world the compass is being used.  All units include complete internal gimballing, a compensating mechanism and two 12-24V light units. 

Their durability, superior readability and global balancing have made Suunto Large marine compasses essential pieces of equipment on many of the world's highest quality yachts; for example, nearly all boats that competed in the Volvo Ocean Race 2001-2002 were equipped with Suunto 135-series compasses.

The Suunto 135 series are suitable for sail or power applications and all feature top reading cards.  The operational temperature range for these compasses is -35°C to +70°C and all are covered by a 10-year Suunto warranty.
