Advanced aircomfort
Put an end to the sweaty back syndrome! This system keeps the packsack from coming in direct contact with the wearer's back. Moist air can freely escape through the three-sided ventilated system preventing heat build-up. Test results from Germany's Hohenstein Research Institute show that the Aircomfort system reduces perspiration up to 25%. Additional padding at the shoulder blades and hip increase the carrying comfort.
- The strong Aircomfort mesh provides comfort and top class ventilation: the hot air dissipates freely from three sides.
- Ventilated pads made of bilaminate foam (AC Lite series, Zugspitze 24S and 28L), or Contoured hip belt with ventilated pads (Gröden 30 S and 35 L, Gesäuse 32 S and 40 L) for ideal carrying comfort, and stability.
- Durable spring steel frame provides a flexible and light structure, and applies tension to the mesh.
- Contoured, padded shoulder straps with MeshTex.

Aircomfort futura
As in all Deuter Aircomfort Systems, the heart of this system is the powder-coated spring steel frame, which tensions a strong breathable mesh and provides a large air space between the backpack and the wearer's back. Being open on three sides, it provides most effective ventilation. Thanks to the special lower positioning of the shoulder straps in combination with the stabiliser straps the backpack position and back length can be regulated. Anatomically formed hip fins with ventilation pads which enhance the comfort, increase load carrying stability.
- The special suspended mesh provides convincing back ventilation: the hot air dissipates freely from three sides.
- Depending on pack volume weight is transferred to the hips through varying sized hip belts.
- Durable spring steel frame provides a flexible and light structure, and tensions the mesh.
- Contoured, softly padded shoulder straps covered with MeshTex.
- Stabiliser straps allow exact positioning of the rucksack.

Airstripes system
No compromises here. This special carrying system for bikers is made of two contoured foam stripes with air channels and is covered with a highly breathable mesh. The Airstripes system is designed so that only 5% of its surface area comes in contact with the wearer's back. The spacing between the foam stripes generates a "chimney effect" that enhances the ventilation while riding. The result is an excellent solution for the high performance cyclist whether on mountain bike tours or road trips.
- Flexible aluminium stays in the profiles allow for curvature adjustment of the back and provide increased support (Bike, Superbike and Trans Alpine).
- Two air channelled foam stripes with mesh lining ensure maximum air circulation and stability.
- The hip belt with mesh wings provides a breathable and compact fit in any cycling situation.
- The sternum strap improves the fit of the shoulder straps.
- MeshTex lined shoulder straps with a contoured shape to guarantee freedom of movement.

Backpack
Materials
Most important: the right backpack materials. Not just so that your "Deuter"
will really get through the thick and thin with it's high quality fabrics. But
also, that the creative combination of the right fabrics on the pack to optimise
performance and reduce weight.
Deuter uses only selected backpack fabrics that are rip- and abrasion-proof,
colourfast, UV-resistant, quick drying, water resistant, long lasting, and lightweight.
The two important synthetic materials are nylon (polyamide) and polyester. The
fabrics are specified by their thread thickness in denier (den), which is thread
weight specified over a thread length of 9,000 metres. This means that a 9,000
metre long 600 den thread, for example, would weigh 600 grams. To provide high
water resistance, Deuter fabrics are coated exclusively with polyurethane (PU)
which is abrasion-proof, cold-resistant and flexible.
Deuter-Diamond-Rip: The special feature of this 420 den nylon weave are the grid-design inter-woven
reinforcement threads that provide this material with enhanced rip resistance
and its technical appearance. PU coated.
Deuter-Duratex:
Has a thread strength of 1.000 den, a texture surface with a soft touch. Inside,
it is lined with a thick PU coating. This polyamide fabric is extremely abrasion-
and rip-proof.
Deuter-Duratex-Light: See Duratex. The difference is the 500 den polyamide fabric that, nevertheless,
lives up to the high demands of being rip- and abrasion-proof.
Deuter-Ballistic: New high density woven polyamide 420 denier fabric with high strength and lightweight
makes it especially suitable for high-end packs. PU coating.
Deuter-MacroTec:
The extremely textured 420 denier polyamide fabric with ripstop reinforcement
threads is highly abrasion resistant. Thick PU coating.
Deuter-MeshTex:
The soft polyester mesh allows for a fine ventilation of the shoulder straps
and the back pads.
Deuter-Microrip-Polytex: 150 den Polyester with PU coating. Very fine and lightweight
Polytex fabric with stronger ripstop threads.
Deuter-Super-Polytex:
It is woven from the 600 den polyester thread and PU coated.
It is a rip- and abrasion-proof, nevertheless light fabric for multi-purpose
use.
Deuter-Ripstop-Polytex:
The more sturdy version of Deuter-Super-Polytex with stronger
rip stopping threads woven in. PU coated.
Deuter-Super-Ripstop-Nylon: The regular chain-and-weft weaving
of stronger threads creates a strong, nevertheless light 420 den nylon fabric
with good abrasion and rip stopping characteristics. The outside is water-repellent,
the inside is PU coated.
Deuter-Microrip-Nylon:
210 den Nylon fabric with strong ripstop threads and PU coating. This fine,
lightweight and yet abrasion resistant nylon is optimal for lightweight bike
backpack construction.
Deuter-Taffeta-Nylon:
It is a fine weave of 190 den threads for the Deuter rain covers. It is light
with small packing dimensions. The PU coating grants excellent water-resistance.
Air
Mesh: This is a durable polyester open weave mesh that offers
optimum breathability especially in the Aircontact cushions.
3D
Air Mesh: A high quality thick breathable covering fabric
used on back cushions and shoulder straps, offers optimum durability and comfort.
