This Simulator is the standard software, used throughout the UK and overseas, for the teaching and assessing of students for the VHF Short Range Certificate. It presents all the controls and displays of a real VHF DSC radio on your PC screen. An additional remote station, and a GPS are also depicted.
Whereas the DSC Tutor, described above, explains and guides the user through the principles of VHF and DSC then allows operation of each control as its function is demonstrated, the Simulator allows completely unlimited practice of all procedures, with the exception of the speech channel.
For those students who have attended an SRC course, the Simulator provides the essential ongoing practice, including the vital Safety, Urgency and Distress calling which cannot be practised on a live radio because that would generate false alerts, yet must become second nature to use.
A personal copy of the Simulator makes the ideal accompaniment to the DSC Tutor, helping you to learn all of the procedures then gain a wealth of experience with the fully-functioned Simulator, before and after taking your SRC course.
