An all purpose map packed full of information to help you really get to know an area. The 204 Landranger maps cover the country. Each map covers an area of 40 km by 40 km (25 miles by 25 miles) and like other Ordnance Survey maps, National Grid squares are provided so that any feature can be given a unique reference number.
1:50 000 scale map symbols
Maps use a series of standardised signs to represent features on the ground - roads, railways, forests and so on. Each of the links at the foot of this page leads to a section of the standard signs used on Ordnance Survey 1:50 000 Landranger series maps - probably the most well known of all of the national map series.
