Ortlieb Water Sacks

The construction of the Water Sack is identical to that of our Drybags with a roll closure. The welded ORTLIEB water valve in the base allows water to be released at a controlled rate. You can use them on the move as normal Drybags, e.g. for your sleeping bag, clothing etc. When you have set up camp they become water carriers, water containers or camping showers (Shower Head available as an optional accessory). The large roll closure opening allows easy filling. The buckle straps can be used for hanging the Watersack from a branch or hook, and the black version is especially well suited as solar shower (with the shower head = accessory). Empty, the Waterbags are extremely light and take up hardly any space in your rucksack or bike pannier.

Note: The volumes we quote refer to the rolled (3 times) and closed bags. Add about 20 cm / 7,9 in. for the open bag’s length.
Tip: The Water Sack offers the possibility of water treatment in combination with the Katadyn Siphon Filter (from model 2000) made in Switzerland. The ceramic filter element can be attached to the Water Sack, using the appropriate adapter, thus removing any impurities from the water before it leaves the Sack. The purified drinking water then flows (4 l/h) down a tube (included with the filter) and trickles directly into a drinking water container such as the ORTLIEB Water Bag. Note: We do not recommend carrying full Watersacks during the journey, as they may leak in horizontal position! The roll closure allows no water to enter from the outside, but may leak under certain conditions. For backpacks and panniers, we only recommend the Water Bag or Water Belt. Clean inside with warm water, liquid soap or artificial denture tablets.
