Garmin GPSMAP 188/188C Sounder

The Garmin GPSMAP 188/188C Sounder is easily installed in open cockpits and overhead boxes and features a quick map redraw using a high-speed RISC processor.

These units combine chartplotter and sounder capabilities in one unit, with split-screen capability so you can view your position and sounder information at the same time. For the GPSMAP 188 Sounder, detailed marine cartography is presented on a high-resolution (240 x 360 pixels) 10-level greyscale, liquid crystal display. For the Garmin GPSMAP 188C Sounder, the display is a high-resolution (234 x 320 pixels) 16-colour TFT display.

Featuring a built-in worldwide basemap, the Garmin GPSMAP 188/188C Sounder is fully compatible with Garmin's new BlueChart marine cartography and many MapSource CD-ROM products, including Fishing Hotspots. These units are designed to provide precise GPS positioning using correction data obtained from the Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS). They also provide position accuracy to less than 3 m when receiving WAAS corrections. The Garmin GPSMAP 188/188C Sounder also accepts RTCM-104 differential corrections.

• GA 29 low-profile remote marine antenna 010-00174-00: If you're mounting your GPS unit below deck, you'll need this remote marine antenna to receive GPS signals. Comes with 30 feet of cable and BNC connector (replacement for GA 28).
• GA-29F surface-mount GPS antenna 010-00174-01: If you're mounting your GPS unit below deck, you'll need this remote marine antenna to receive GPS signals. Comes with 30 feet of cable and BNC connector (replacement for GA 28).
• A/C PC adaptor, 7-pin (Euro) 010-10275-01: This adaptor allows you to connect your GPS unit to AC power (European 220 volt) and to your PC. Features standard 9-pin D connector.
• 2nd mounting station 010-10196-00: With this second mounting station, you can have your GPS unit at your side whether you're navigating from the cabin or the fly bridge. Kit includes gimbal mounting bracket and power/data cable.
• Protective cover (replacement) 147-00011-00: Head gear for your chartplotter. Cover fits snugly over the display to keep your unit free from scuffs and scrapes when not in use.
