The DC Airco 8500 24v Air Conditioner C6207 is a powerful unit designed for vehicles where roof mounting is not an option.
The DC 8500 consists of two units which are connected by two pre-filled refrigerant hoses. The outside unit can be mounted at the rear of a cab and the interior unit is normally mounted on the same panel but inside.
Although intended mainly for use when the vehicle is parked with the engine off, the unit is efficient enough to take over air-conditioning duties when on the move. Using the DC 8500 instead of the engine-driven A.C. can result in fuel savings of up to 10%
Installation is straightforward with just four small holes needed to carry the refrigerant hoses, drain hose and electric cables. Power normally comes from the starter batteries and, thanks to DC Airco's unique design, engine starting is never a problem.
