A Baltic Flotation
Suit has the ability to protect
against the first shock of entering
cold water.
The Flotation Suit then traps
water inside the suit and, by the
same principle as operates with a wetsuit,
the body heats
the trapped water.
All Baltic Flotation Suits have been
tested and approved by the
accredited test institute Force
Technology to EN393 and EN ISO
15027-1.
One of the test criteria is that five
people, each wearing a flotation
suit, are immersed in water at
15°C for 2 hours. During that
time, they must not lose more than
2°C core temperature.
The test subjects wearing
Baltic Flotation Suits lost only 0.8°C.
